The current conflict in South Sudan that began in December 2013 has displaced nearly one million people. International companies, government agencies, and aid providers have left the country due to security reasons which has eliminated jobs, halted development, and closed schools. In response, the VAD Foundation has increased student enrollment by 44% from last year, hired an additional six teachers, and remained a stable presence in the community. Your donations make it possible to serve more students and families.

In February, Valentino further invested in the community by hiring locals to lead the installation of the MBSS solar project and to refurbish the science lab to better support the science curriculum and accomodate the increased student enrollment. The jobs and educational opportunities that your donations create are imperative to peace and growth in South Sudan.

Tiffanie DeBartolo, board member, is hosting an intimate dinner in San Francisco on April 18th. Join VADF co-founders Valentino Deng and Dave Eggers along with special guests Huey Lewis, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, and Dwight Clark to create opportunities for more students in South Sudan. Click here to purchase tickets! All ticket purchases are 100% tax deductible and fund programs at Marial Bai Secondary School.

You promote peace in the region by supporting the VAD Foundation's mission to educate a young nation, invest in community driven projects, and empower locals to provide for their community through sustainable agriculture, public health, and clean water projects.
