December 2015 Update

December is a busy month for MBSS students as they finished up the 2014 school year and return home to prepare for the dry season. The VAD Foundation knows you have been busy too! Our friends in the U.S. just gathered to give thanks and express gratitude to family and friends. Many others are preparing for holidays and celebrate a new year. The office is already receiving Season's Greetings from friends and supporters worldwide. Today marks #GivingTuesday, a worldwide campaign to remember to share your blessings to the causes that you hold close to your heart.

President Barak Obama recognized the generosity of the American people in his weekly address as they celebrated Thanksgiving, but we know that generosity is what connects all of us as humans. We depend on the generosity of our local communities in South Sudan and San Francisco, along with each of your communities that come together to give youth in South Sudan a chance at a brighter future.

"Giving Tuesday -- recognizing that in the holiday season, what you give is as important as what you get." -- President Barack Obama

Your gifts are needed to prepare for another successful school year. The VAD Foundation is now serving more students and families than ever before. With growing programs and ongoing internal conflict, your support gives South Sudanese youth a safe environment to learn, grow, and make positive change in their country as young leaders.

Get in the holiday spirit by giving back while checking off names on your holiday gift list!
Four ways to GIVE and GET!

  • Donate in a loved one's honor, the perfect gift for anyone. It's now easier than ever! When you select the "Donate" button just select the amount and you will be prompted to include the individual who should be acknowldeged for the gift.
  • Share our story with a fellow book lover. Buy What is the What on the VAD Foundation website, in addition book proceeds going to the foundation, Amazon donates on top of that!
  • Use AmazonSmile to finish any last minute gift getting. A percentage of all purchases made through supporting the VAD Foundation supports our programs in South Sudan.
  • Give access to clean water with Elizabeth Essentials. A member of our family of supporters is giving a free gift to each of the donors supporting a clean water and sanitation project that will be taking place next year.
