Meet our student Abiar and see how the VAD Foundation is improving education for 160 girls in South Sudan.

Abiar's Story

I am ten years old and am in fifth grade. I have two brothers and one sister. I heard about Alok Girls’ Academy from my sister. My favorite subject is English and my favorite color is purple. I use my free time to wash clothes and assist my parents with household duties. My dream is to become President of South Sudan some day. I always pray for that. I am tall and thin with small eyes and ears. I like eating rice and beans. I like playing football, reading, and writing. I don’t like fighting and insulting people. I respect my teachers and my parents.

With your support, the Alok Girls' Academy can continue to change lives.

The female literacy rate in South Sudan is around 16%. The VAD Foundation is working hard to change this statistic. At our second campus, the Alok Girls' Academy, we are providing quality education to 160 girls. In our first year, the Alok Girls' Academy is one of the top schools in the country. Meet more of our students, see our online brochure with a letter from Valentino, and see our alumni in action. We are looking forward to a great 2019 and increasing our enrollment at Alok Girls' Academy. We need your help to add more classes to Alok Girls' Academy.
