Schools are Re-Opening (9/30/20)

Schools in South Sudan are slated to re-open on October 5th, 2020. Due to COVID-19, the Government of South Sudan has stated that only 8th and 12th-grade students will return to school in order to prepare and sit for exams in early 2021.

The VAD Foundation will be re-opening Alok Girls' Academy (AGA) on October 5th, but we have decided not re-open Marial Bai Secondary School (MBSS) until all grades can attend, hopefully in 2021. With the re-opening of AGA, we will be ensuring the health and safety of our students and staff by taking precautionary measures such as mask-wearing, handwashing, physical distance, and sanitation practices at the school. We will be sure to keep our supporters updated on the re-opening in the coming weeks.
